Hair Blog!

So, I have done something I never thought in a bazillion years I would do. If you would've asked me a month ago what a Hair Blog was, I wouldn't have a clue! Most of you who know me, know that I LOVE doing Julia and Maddy's hair. It is a special time for me to bond with them and have that one on one girl talk. Those two girls love to chat and I feel we've had our best chats while doing hair. They are so patient with me and sit there as long as it takes to get their hair just right...never complaining. I so appreciate that!

So, to make a long story short, a good friend came up to me at church and asked if I would start a hair blog...not only to show off our hair do's but to advertise her cute cute CUTE hair bows. So, Julia, Maddy and I agreed and we now have a hair blog site called http://www.pigtailsandpinstripes.blogspot.com/. Check it out and make sure to check out the cute bows, head bands, dresses and quilts too!
Now, please know that I am not a professional, nor do I profess to be good at doing hair. I just love it! Most of my ideas are not my own. In public places, I am constantly looking at little girly hair to gather ideas. PLUS, my sis-in-law, Kelli who is the QUEEN of hair has showed me some of her ideas as well. Plus, not to mention all of the other bazillions of hair blogs out there! So, if you have any suggestions or ideas, let me know!
Happy Hair-Doing!
P.S. Our camera isn't the best camera in the world. I am researching cameras as we speak and am asking for one for Christmas. So please disregard the quality of the pics. It's the do and the bows that's most important, right??

Family Picture

Yesterday, Maddy's Kindergarten class was instructed to draw a picture of their family. They were to place themselves in the middle with lines connecting to their family members around them. My heart was immediately touched when she showed this picture to me and I about burst into tears like I am right now as I type. It touches my heart to know that Maddy feels I, her step-mom, is considered part of 'her' family. A day doesn't go by where I don't think how lucky and blessed I am that these 3 wonderful kids include me in their lives and are patient with me as a first time mother. I know they may not always think that, but for now, I will bask in the warm feeling a picture like this brings to me. It makes it all worth it.

Thank you, Maddy for this picture. You have no idea what it means to me. LOVE YOU!

Sorry, the picture turned out pretty light...but you get the idea.

Kids...they say the darndest things!

Ok, so I must post another funny/cute thing Julia said yesterday. We were discussing my upcoming Beehive lesson on Sacrifice/Consecration. I was telling her about coal and diamonds and that diamonds actually come from coal. Without even hesitating, she looked at me with her Julia look and said , "I SOOOOO want coal in my stocking this year." I laughed soooo hard for several minutes! Man, she's a hoot!

Have a great weekend everyone!!

The Boise Boo Bash!

We got to spend Halloween in Boise this year! It was such a blast! My niece, Morgan was baptized the day after Halloween so we thought we would make a trip of it all. We arrived in Boise just in time to get ready for the Trunk-or-Treat.

We tried to be a little creative with the kids' costumes this year. Ike was a "Cereal Killer." Get it? Julia was "Pets for Sale." Get it? And Maddy was a Military Girl. Her tag on her costume read "MJR FLIRT (Major Flirt). They looked so cute! I used my standy by Cow costume. The kids got to trick-or-treat with tons of their cousins. First, we went to The Dalley's Trunk-or-Treat and loaded up on candy and chili. Then, since that just wasn't enough, we trick-or-treated around the Dalley's neighborhood. The kids ran from house to house, filling up their pillowcases again with all kinds of goods. Once the kids (and adults) were pooped, we went back to the Dalley home and watched the kids sort their loads of candy into categories. FUN!

The baptism was wonderful and Morgan looked beautiful! She was so excited to be baptized and we are so proud of her.

Thanks for an awesome time!

Dalley Reunion

Before I post some Halloween pics, I thought I would post another fave from the summer. The annual Dalley Reunion was a HOOT, as usual! We all met at my parent's home for the weekend. Of course, no Dalley family reunion is complete without a Dalley Dress-Up! What a great time the kids had trying on all of Courtney, mine and my mom's old stuff. Even old Homecoming and Prom gowns! FUN! This picture doesn't really show what kinds of outfits the kids came up with...oh well.

We played Twister

Took a cute Family Pic

The kiddos made a pyramid of cousins!

Then the adults did too!

Rich and Rustin completed an entire 1000 pc puzzle!
